On October 12, we had the incredible privilege of hosting an "AI Awareness for Seniors" session at the Alief Community Center. This event was a cornerstone of ORAI's mission to ensure that no community is left behind as technology rapidly advances.

The turnout was truly overwhelming, with over 400 seniors filling the hall. What made the event particularly special was the incredible diversity of our audience. Alief is a beautiful melting pot of cultures, and we were prepared to meet our community where they are. We provided real-time translations and materials in Vietnamese, Chinese, and Spanish, ensuring that every participant could fully engage with the content.

Our objective was to demystify AI in a way that felt fun and relevant to everyday life. We explored how AI is already part of their world—from voice assistants to health tracking. But beyond the "cool" factor, we focused heavily on safety. We spent a significant portion of the session teaching seniors how to identify and protect themselves from AI-generated scams, a growing concern in the digital age.

The engagement level was through the roof. The seniors were not just passive listeners; they were inquisitive, sharing their own experiences and asking sharp questions. Seeing the look of relief and empowerment on their faces as they learned how to navigate this new landscape was incredibly rewarding.

We want to extend a huge thank you to the Alief Community Center for hosting us and to all the volunteers who helped bridge the language gap. This event proved that curiosity knows no age and that with the right tools, everyone can feel confident in our tech-driven future.
